Grasshopper Creek
16"x 20"

Grasshopper Creek at Bannack, MT was panned and dredged in the gold rush circa 1864. Today the gold is gone, the stage robbers safely hanged, the miners and vigilantes also dead, and the place is again peaceful.

Pervasive smoke from numerous forest fires in 2007 resulted in a pall of haze that presented opportunities for atmospheric depth.
